Stephen A. Wald, PhD, was raised in Salem, Ohio, and graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor’s and a PhD from the School of Chemical Engineering. He served as Captain in the US Army, has been a corporate President and founder of several entrepreneurial businesses. Since 2003, Dr. Wald has served as an advocate of a new Center for PF Treatment & Translational Research in the pacific northwest. He is married with two sons five grandchildren. His hobbies include writing, fitness, mycology (wild mushroom hunting), mentoring, boating. Dr. Wald was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis in 1998, and has been treated since at the University of Washington Medical Center by the Physician-Scientist Ganesh Raghu, MD.
