Meet Sisi Suarez
Losing a Loved One
My name is Sisi Suarez, and I am proud to support the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. My mother, Ines Conde, and all five of her siblings passed away from pulmonary fibrosis. Two of my aunts and an uncle already passed away from pulmonary fibrosis when my mother received her diagnosis. Because of this, I knew my mother received her death sentence. This is the reality that all those who are living with the disease face. There is no known cure.
Losing a loved one to a disease like this is crushing. Your heart breaks as you watch someone you care deeply about struggle to catch their breath, knowing that there is nothing you can do to help them. After watching my mother succumb to pulmonary fibrosis, I knew that I did not want anyone else to experience what our family did. This led us to search for support and thankfully, we found the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
Team Tisalema
Our family began supporting the Foundation when we participated in the PFF Walk - New York City. For the past five years, over 30 members of our family and friends have walked as part of team Tisalema Pebbles. Since we have started walking, we have raised over $12,000. This money, along with all of the donations from generous donors such as you, have resulted in expanding the educational offerings for the community, growing the PFF Care Center Network and establishing the first ever PFF Registry.
An entire generation of my family has been wiped out by familial pulmonary fibrosis. Many of those diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis have had someone in their family suffer from the disease. We need your support to help the families who have been affected by this disease. The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation is leading research and the pathway to a cure for all types of pulmonary fibrosis.
Saving Future Generations
Your gift today will help patients and families, like mine, affected by this terrible disease by continuing to support these vital initiatives.
The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation is the single largest organization entirely focused on helping us fight this disease. We need to find a cure, and we need to find out why this is happening. This disease can no longer be a death sentence. Your donation today will make these goals possible.
