Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation Benefit Set for March 6
CHICAGO, Dec. 8, 2022 – The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF) today announced that its largest annual fundraiser, Broadway Belts for PFF!, will take place March 6, 2023, in a new home, Sony Hall in New York City. The new venue features state-of-the-art technology to provide attendees with an exciting entertainment experience. Tickets to attend in person or virtually are now available at broadwaybeltsforpff.org.
With Tony Award-winning actress and pulmonary fibrosis (PF) advocate Julie Halston as emcee, Broadway Belts for PFF! showcases Broadway’s hottest stars and legends performing their favorite songs to raise funds and awareness for people living with PF. The event is directed by Carl Andress. Broadway Belts for PFF! has raised nearly $3 million since its inception in 2010.
A fully interactive experience will be offered to those who join virtually. Pre-event activities and special opportunities for engagement throughout the gala will connect audiences at home and in Sony Hall.
In recent years, Broadway Belts for PFF! has featured more than 75 Broadway celebrities including Stephanie Mills, Daveed Diggs, and Liza Minnelli. In 2018, the reunion of the cast of Hairspray featured Harvey Fierstein, Marissa Jaret Winokur, and Andrew Rannells in a sold-out show. Bernadette Peters performed in the 10-year anniversary celebration of Broadway Belts for PFF! in 2020.
More than 250,000 Americans are living with pulmonary fibrosis, a devastating disease that causes irreversible scarring in the lungs. The incidence of PF is on the rise with more than 50,000 new cases diagnosed each year. Research and clinical trials are underway to discover improved treatments and a cure.
Talent for Broadway Belts for PFF! 2023 will be announced in the new year. For more information about the event, visit broadwaybeltsforpff.org.
